Lot Preparation
Building Starts from the Ground Up
Before any construction can begin, proper lot preparation is essential to ensure a strong foundation and a smooth building process. At Rua Elite Construction, we follow a thorough and proven process to prepare your lot for new construction.
1. Site Evaluation & Surveying
We begin by evaluating the land to assess its condition, elevation, and drainage. A professional survey is conducted to mark property boundaries and identify any obstacles that need to be addressed.
2. Clearing the Land
Trees, brush, rocks, and debris are removed from the site. This step also includes demolishing any existing structures, if necessary, to create a clean slate for construction.
3. Grading & Excavation
The land is leveled and shaped to ensure proper drainage and to accommodate the building’s layout. Excavation is then done for the foundation, utility lines, and any other underground features like septic systems or stormwater management.
4. Soil Testing & Compaction
We test the soil to ensure it’s stable and suitable for building. If needed, we reinforce or replace the soil and compact it to prevent settling and structural issues down the line.
5. Installing Utilities
Basic infrastructure is put in place, such as water and sewer lines, electrical conduits, and drainage systems, so they’re ready once construction begins.
6. Final Inspection & Readiness
Before construction starts, we perform a final inspection to ensure the lot meets all local codes and is fully prepared for the next phase—foundation and framing.

House Exterior Construction
Blocks, Trusses & Building the Shell
Once the lot is prepared and the foundation is in place, it’s time to bring the structure to life. At Rua Elite Construction, we focus on high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship to ensure your home’s exterior is built to last. This stage includes concrete block installation, structural framing, and roof trusses.
1. Concrete Block Walls (CMU Construction)
The first step in creating the home’s shell is laying concrete masonry units (blocks). These blocks form the exterior walls and are essential for structural strength, insulation, and hurricane resistance—especially in Florida’s climate.
-
Reinforced with steel and concrete: Vertical rebar is placed inside the blocks, and cores are filled with concrete to increase durability.
-
Accurate layout and alignment: Openings for windows, doors, and utility lines are precisely measured and framed during this step.
2. Lintel Installation
Over all doors and windows, we install lintels (concrete beams) to support the block structure above the openings. These are often poured in place or made from pre-cast concrete and reinforced with steel.
3. Structural Tie Beam
A concrete tie beam is poured across the top of the walls to tie everything together and provide added strength and hurricane resistance. It connects the walls and prepares the structure for the roof system.
4. Roof Truss Installation
Once the shell is complete, pre-engineered wood trusses are installed to form the structure of the roof.
-
Delivered pre-assembled: This ensures precision and speeds up the process.
-
Secured to the tie beam: Trusses are strapped and anchored in place to meet Florida’s strict building codes.
-
Ready for sheathing: Once in place, the trusses are topped with plywood sheathing to complete the roof structure.
5. Exterior Inspection & Wrap-Up
After the block and truss work is complete, inspections are scheduled to ensure everything meets structural and code requirements. From here, the home is ready for roof installation, windows, and exterior finishes.
Strong From the Outside In
Our block and truss work creates a strong, secure shell that’s built to stand the test of time. Whether you’re building a custom home or investing in new construction, we make sure the exterior structure is solid and ready for the next phase.

Roof Construction
Protecting Your Home from the Top Down
The roof is one of the most critical parts of any home—it protects everything beneath it from the elements and plays a key role in energy efficiency, durability, and curb appeal. At Rua Elite Construction, we follow a precise process to ensure your roof is built to last and withstand Florida’s challenging weather conditions.
1. Roof Truss Installation
We begin by installing engineered wood trusses, which form the structural skeleton of the roof.
-
Pre-fabricated and designed to meet code
-
Spaced and secured with metal anchors and hurricane straps
-
Ensures proper weight distribution and wind resistance
2. Roof Sheathing
Next, we install roof decking, typically made from plywood or oriented strand board (OSB).
-
Provides a solid surface for roofing layers
-
Installed with approved fasteners to meet hurricane standards
-
Checked for proper spacing and ventilation needs
3. Roofing Underlayment
A waterproof or water-resistant underlayment is applied over the sheathing.
-
Acts as a barrier against moisture and wind-driven rain
-
Common options include synthetic underlayment or peel-and-stick membranes
-
Enhances the roof’s lifespan and leak protection
4. Drip Edge & Flashing
We install drip edges along the roof edges and metal flashing around valleys, chimneys, and roof penetrations.
-
Directs water away from the structure
-
Prevents leaks in vulnerable areas
-
Essential for long-term performance
5. Final Roofing Material
We apply the final roofing system based on your selection—commonly asphalt shingles, tile, or metal roofing.
-
Asphalt shingles: Cost-effective, durable, and popular
-
Concrete or clay tile: Stylish, long-lasting, ideal for Florida
-
Metal roofing: High-performance and energy efficient
Each roofing material is installed with precision to ensure proper overlap, secure fastening, and clean finish.
6. Roof Vents & Finishing Touches
Proper roof ventilation is installed to regulate attic temperature and reduce moisture buildup.
-
Ridge vents, soffit vents, or attic fans as needed
-
Finishing details ensure the roof is sealed, ventilated, and code-compliant
7. Final Inspection
Before moving to the next phase of construction, a full inspection is performed to verify that the roof meets all local building codes and safety standards.
A Strong Roof Means Peace of Mind
From trusses to shingles, we make sure every layer of your roof is installed with care and precision. With our experienced team and high-quality materials, your home will be well-protected for years to come.

Plumbing Construction
Building the System Behind the Walls
Plumbing is one of the most essential systems in any home. It brings in clean water, removes wastewater, and supports daily functions from showers to kitchen sinks. At Rua Elite Construction, we ensure your plumbing is expertly installed, up to code, and designed for long-term performance.
1. Underground Plumbing (Rough-In)
Before the slab is poured, we begin with underground rough-in plumbing.
-
Pipes for water supply and drainage are installed below the foundation
-
Sewer lines, vent pipes, and water lines are carefully mapped and laid
-
Everything is pressure-tested and inspected before concrete is poured
2. Top-Out or Above-Ground Plumbing
After the concrete slab is in place and the walls are built, we move on to the top-out phase.
-
Water supply lines (hot and cold) are run through walls and ceilings
-
Drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems are installed for sinks, toilets, showers, and appliances
-
Plumbing is aligned with fixtures and inspected before drywall goes up
3. Water Heater & Main Lines
At this stage, we install main water lines, shut-off valves, and prepare for the water heater installation.
-
Proper connections for cold and hot water distribution
-
Gas or electric water heater lines are prepped based on your selection
4. Final Plumbing (Trim-Out)
Once interior work is nearly complete, we move on to trim-out plumbing.
-
Installation of sinks, faucets, toilets, tubs, showers, and water heaters
-
Appliances like dishwashers and washing machines are connected
-
Final system checks are performed to ensure leak-free operation
5. Final Inspection
A certified plumbing inspection is conducted to verify that all systems are installed correctly and comply with local building codes.
